1 Day Entebbe City Tour at Uwec : Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center is located in Entebbe. In fact, it was established to accommodate injured wildlife as well as look after orphan animals confiscated from smugglers. It is also one of the most prominent conservation education institutions in Africa. Thereby carrying a mandate of educating Ugandans about the importance of conserving the country’s biodiversity. Furthermore, the place is a home to different wildlife like the chimpanzees, zebras, giraffes, lions. Tigers, leopards, rhinos, warthogs, impalas, topis, elephants, cheetahs, etc. In addition, it hosts over 23 primates but most common are the Vervet monkeys, black and white colobus and DeBraza monkeys. Over 120 bird species can be spotted and these include; African fish eagle, Great Blue Turaco, Hamerkop, Peacocks, Crested crane, Giant Kingfisher, etc.

Detailed itinerary

Generally, the Center is where wildlife education is combined with leisure. Here, you will not only observe the exciting indigenous species, but also have a comprehensive interactive interpretation and briefings on them. While here, you will come across animals in their cages like the zebras, lions, tigers. Leopards, elephants, Buffalos, water bucks, giraffes, warthogs, impalas. Jackson’s hartebeests, cheetahs, caracals, rhinos, elands, civet cats and many more. Reptiles include; the rock pythons, carbon vipers, black mambas, Jameson’s mambo, etc. On the other hand, primates include the chimpanzees, black and white colobus, DeBraza monkey, red tailed, vervet monkeys, etc. You will also come across different birds like the turacos, kingfishers, robin chats, herons, finches. starlings, thrushes, bee-eaters, sunbirds, ostrich, flycatchers, peacocks, the rare shoebill, etc. If you are interested in botany, you will also find live collections of traditional medicinal plants. Later you will have lunch and then prepare to set off for your journey back to Kampala.
