This 4 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife & Cultural experience : takes you to Uganda’s most visited savannah park. Here, you will enjoy your adventure and wildlife experience. Murchison falls is the most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa whereby the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge. It later plunges with a thunderous roar into the “Devils cauldron”.

Generally, this safari will give you enough time to see all that the great Murchison Falls national park has to offer. These include game drives in the savannah grassland that will expose you to lots of animals. The Park also offers a boat cruise on the Nile where you will be able to come across aquatic animals. However, before you proceed to the park, you will visit the Ziwa rhino sanctuary. As a matter of fact, this is the only place in Uganda that harbors these endangered white rhinos. While at the sanctuary, you will do your on-foot rhino tracking in guidance of the ranger.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Rhino Tracking-Top of the falls

After your morning breakfast, you will be picked by one of our drives.  Thereafter, start your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. Note that, this is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. You will have your first stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and here you will be able to do your on-foot rhino tracking however, the time taken depends on their location. After the tracking, you will embark on your journey, have a stopover in Masindi for lunch and afterwards continue with your journey.

Upon arrival, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls.  Interestingly, the water makes a thunderous sound pouring downstream into the Victoria Nile. Actually, this place is good for memorable pictures and taking in the sounds and sights of these strong falls. Therefore, be ready to take as many photos here and videos for memories to take back home. Check in your booked accommodation.

Day 2: Morning game drive-Afternoon Boat cruise at the bottom of the falls

After your breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive looking out for the early risers. It will be a great time as you look out for various animal species such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kobs, spotted hyenas, etc. For bird lovers, don’t forget to spot a number of bird species like the hornbills, oxpeckers, etc. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock to enjoy your packed lunch in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise.

Later, you will set off for your boat adventure and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals. These include; crocodiles, hippos and some animals at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst; like elephants and water bucks. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles and more. Feel free to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife on water. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of the Falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. Afterwards, head back to your accommodation.

Day 3: Delta Nile Boat Cruise-Boomu Women’s Cultural Group

Early morning departure from the lodge with picnic Lunch and transfer to catch the morning boat at the Nile Delta. While on this boat cruise, you will spot several herds of buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Giraffes, Elephants, etc. Birders will be in for a greatest birding experience during the boat ride as you come across a variety of birds like the shoebill stork, saddled billed stork, etc. Therefore, have your binoculars and camera for memorial photos.

After the cruise, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and a lunch break, and then proceed to the Boomu women’s group. The group basically offers an up-close and personal peek into a Ugandan village’s customs, traditions, and lifestyle. Embrace the chance to create a Ugandan-style meal, whereby the flavors and aromas come alive. You can as well engage in African crafts such as beadwork, basket weaving, or clothe making. Here, you will also interact with the local people by listening to old tales as well as enjoy their songs and dances. Feel free to take photos and videos and some souvenirs for memories back home. Later, head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe

After your breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. It will be a great time as you view various animal species as you drive through the park. However, most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding. You will en-route lunch in Masindi and later back on the road for a late evening arrival in Kampala/Entebbe.
