This 6 Days Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Trekking Safari: takes you for primate and wildlife experience safari. Firstly, you will go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and later to Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Park, is generally Uganda’s largest protected area and home to a wide range of flora and fauna. The Park is also one of the most exciting to track animals, bird watching as well as primate watching. The safari proceeds through the Albertine Rift to Bwindi, home to more than half of the remaining total population of mountain gorillas. Besides, Bwindi also hosts over 350 bird species, different primates as well as tree species.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the falls

After breakfast, you will be picked up by one of our representatives from Great Nest Image Safari. Thereafter, you will transfer to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. As indicated earlier, this is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. You will start up your journey to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking, a large preserve where Rhinos are bred. Your next stop will be in Masindi town for lunch and thereafter proceed to the Park.

Upon arrival in the park, you will go to the top of the falls that make Murchison Falls National Park so famous. Besides, this is a place for most memorable pictures and taking in of the sounds and sights. You will also be amazed by the rainbow that does not disappear, created by the mist of the falls. The top of the fall is spectacular, and being so close to the falls is such a wonderful experience. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Morning game drive-Afternoon Boat cruise

After your breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch. It will be a great time as you look out for various animal species that you would have missed out the previous day. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise. Later you will set off for your boat adventure and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals. These include; crocodiles, hippos and some animals at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles, etc. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of the Falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls. Afterwards, head back to your accommodation.

Day 3: Depart Murchison Falls-Travel to Fort Portal

Having your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to Fort portal town with spectacular views of the rift valley. You can either decide to relax around your lodge or tour around the town. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

You will have your morning breakfast and later check out of the lodge. Drive through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of park where you might have a chance to spot the tree climbing lions. Along the way, enroute for lunch and later proceed to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking -Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters. Here, you will be briefed by the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while trekking in the park. Afterwards, start off your gorilla trekking guided by the park rangers. This is a memorable and an amazing experience watching the mountain gorillas feed as well as play around. However, the time taken and the terrain varies with the movements of these great primates.

Upon locating a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence as you take photographs and observe their unique characters. Later, return to the lodge for lunch and a power nap. In the evening you will go for the Batwa cultural experience which will expose you to their culture. Actually this is based on how they live, dance, as well as listening to stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Travel back to the Airport

Have an early breakfast, check-out of the lodge and embark on your journey back to Entebbe. Lunch shall be in Mbarara town and after continue with your journey. Arrival will be late evening and dropped at your hotel or at the Airport to catch up with your flight back home.
