5 Days Uganda Wildlife & City Tour Experience
This 5 Days Uganda Wildlife & City Tour Experience will take you to some of the best places to visit during a Uganda safari. Murchison falls is generally the most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa. Here, the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge and plunges with a thunderous roar into the “Devils cauldron”. Actually, the safari will give you enough time to see all that the park has to offer. These includes game drives in the savannah grassland that will expose you to lots of animals. You will also have a boat cruise on the Nile which bisects the park into sectors. Also do a city tour in Kampala, visiting some historical sites and then conclude your safari with a visit to Jinja City.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Top of the falls
After your morning breakfast, you will be picked by one of our drivers. Thereafter, start your journey to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. As a matter of fact, this is Uganda’s largest national park with lots of natural wonders. Upon arrival, you will start with your first activity which is a walk to the top of the falls. Here, the Victoria Nile waters makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream in the Albert Nile. Furthermore, this place is good for memorable pictures and taking in the sounds and sights. Therefore, be ready to take as many photos and videos for memories to take back home. Later check in your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game drive-Afternoon Boat cruise
Having your early morning breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch. While here, it will be a great time as you look out for various animal species. These include; buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kobs, spotted hyenas, etc. On top of that, the park has got different bird species like the hornbills, oxpeckers, bishops, swallows, etc. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise.
Later, set off for your boat adventure and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals. These include; crocodiles, hippos and some animals at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles, etc. Feel free to take photos and videos as you enjoy the wildlife on water. More so, the boat ride will take you to the bottom of the for clear views of the falls. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this adventurous 3 hour’s boat cruise. Afterwards, you will check in your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
Have breakfast, check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala. It will be a great time as you view various animal species as you drive through the park. However, most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, etc. You will en-route lunch in Masindi and later back on the road for a late evening arrival in Kampala.

Day 4: Kampala City Tour
Kampala city basically provides a setting for many scenic wonders and magnificent cultural as well as panoramic views. It is considered a city of culture, built on historical events that reflect through in the architecture, cuisine, music and dance. Actually, this City tour will take you to some of the most interesting places. These include; Uganda Museum, Gadhafi Mosque, Kisubi tombs as well as the Kabaka’s Palace.
The Uganda Museum & Gadhafi Mosque
You will have an early morning breakfast then start off your city tour. Begin with Uganda Museum which is the oldest museum in East Africa. In fact, it displays and exhibits ethnological, natural-historical and traditional life collections of Uganda’s cultural heritage. Among the collections encountered here include the hunting equipment, playable musical instruments, weaponry and archaeology.
Proceed to Gadhafi National Mosque which is the headquarters of Muslim faith in Uganda and the second largest Mosque in Africa. Interestingly, the mosque was designed in a modern structure with magnificent features of art. In fact, the interior and the design was based on the cultures of Europe, Arab and African touch. The guides will take you around the mosque where you will be able to view the impressive art. The architectural designs in the main hall and minaret offers great scenic views of the seven hills in Kampala city. Note that men are advised to wear long sleeved shirts and long trousers.
Heritage Sites
You will utilize your afternoon visiting the heritage sites of Buganda starting with the Kasubi tombs. In this place, the Kings are put to rest and here you will have a chance to encounter with the traditional Baganda ladies. They will demonstrate the traditions like food preparation and the mode of dressing. Afterwards, head to Lubiri which is the Palace of the Kabaka of Buganda. While here, you will have an opportunity to learn about various traditions of the Buganda culture. Additionally, you will have an encounter with the Amin’s torture chambers. As a matter of fact, these were used by Idi Amin to torture his suspected opponents during his blood dotted reign in Uganda. Furthermore, at the gate of this Palace is a traditional fire source that has never burnt out. This is since the inception of the Buganda monarchy and shall never stop burning least a king is dead. Afterwards, you will be drive back to your place of residence/accommodation.

Day 5: Jinja City Tour
The safari will also take you through the Eastern part of Uganda. You will start with the Unique Sezibwa falls, the source of the Nile and Itanda falls as you experience the best of Eastern Uganda. During this city tour, you will engage in activities such as visiting the source of the Nile and a boat ride along the Source of the Nile.
Sezibwa falls
Enjoy your early morning breakfast and later start your journey to Jinja City. You will have your first stopover at Sezibwa falls, a Buganda cultural site rich with birds, folktales and great scenery. While here, you will enjoy the sounds and overflow of the falls. Enjoy activities like hiking, rock climbing, bird watching and Nature walk. You can as well take pictures here as many as you want for memories. Actually, this stopover will give you a glimpse into the traditional beliefs of Buganda kingdom. Later you will continue with your journey to Jinja city through beautiful scenery of plantations of sugarcane and tea, and colorful roadside fruit markets.
Itanda falls
Arrival in Jinja, head straight to the Itanda falls located along the Nile. Here, you will be so awed by the power and beauty of these falls. These magnificent falls will give you a picture of what it would look like if the full force of the Nile River waters was unleashed. Besides, the sound of the rushing river can be heard from a few miles away and standing close. Note that; the falls have 6 white water rafting features which are fancied by Rafters and Kayakers. You can engage in these activities if interested though they are optional. While at the falls, you have an opportunity of seeing some primates such as monkeys, baboons and a variety of bird species. You can as well participate in cultural dances by local cultural performing troupes.
Source of the Nile
When you take a boat ride to the source of the Nile, its one of the best experiences ever. This is where the Nile starts its 4000-mile journey to the Mediterranean Sea traversing various countries along the way. It is actually regarded as the longest river in the world running to cover over 6,853 km. Bird lovers are also in for a treat since the area is rich with lots of water bird species. Enjoy plenty of picture moments and videos to take back home for remembrance and also feel free to buy some souvenirs. Later, embark on your journey back to Kampala.
